Inner spring mattresses have their place, but frankly, as far as we’re concerned, the day of the inner spring mattress is past. Inn er spring mattresses were a revolutionary idea when they were first invented in 1871 by Heinrich Westfall. The idea was to give people a more comfortable sleeping surface that would hold up over time. It worked (or else we wouldn’t have them today) But this technology is now over 140 years old…is it still the right way to go?
